LART Large Animal Rescue Training

July 30th, 2009
July 11, 2009

lart 009On july 11 and 12 I attended the LART certification put on by Days End Farm of Maryland and the West Virginia Equine Assoc. We had first responders from as far as Tennessee and Texas come along with the WV Dept of Ag and horse people from all over. There were 32 total for the class along with a few auditors. We learned about 5 different slings and how to apply and make one in an emergency situation amongst  more practical and educational information.  The WVEA plans on putting another one together next year, we had a great turnout and were thanked all around for putting on something so beneficial. Education and fun came together to help horses and man alike. I will post when the next dates are available.  Go to the Gallery to see some more great photos!

Moundsville County Fair

September 4th, 2008
June 7, 2008toJune 8, 2008

Travis age 9 and Rhiannon Paris age 4 Three of my students who have never shown came to the Moundsville County Fairgrounds Horse Show and did wonderfully. Riannon age 5  entered the Lead Line, very displeased that someone actually had to hold on to her. She was barely able to contain herself when the judge came down the line and ask her to back. Rhiannon and Dakota were backing before he could get the words out. In the end she came in second in a class of 16. Great Job guys!

Stephanie age 14 went in 4 walk trott classes total with Dakota. She entered Open, Equitation, 12 and up.  She came away with a first, 2 seconds and a,fourth. Wonderful job, next time you will see her in the walk/trott/canter classes and soon schooling jumps.

Travis age 9 took his horse Curly into 4 walk trott classes also. He was in the 12 and under division and did great also. He got 3 2nds a 3rd and a fifth. These kids are improving all the time look for them in the future. Everyone did awesome!

Testimonial

”It has been my privilege to have been acquainted with Kim for more than a year.  I met Kim at an AKC Agility Trial in West Virginia where she was offering canine massage to the agility competitors.  As the owner of an 9-year Cardigan Corgi, I am always interested in providing my Corgi the best canine care possible.  Lucy, my Cardigan, is still a an avid agility competitor in spite of considerable arthritis in both shoulders, elbows, and hips.  I have taken Lucy to numerous canine massage therapists, and I was immediately impressed with both Kim’s professional and personal skills.  She seems to have what I call the “Magic Touch” when working on a pup–Lucy’s energy level is always accelerated after a visit with Kim; she seems to return to puppy mode.  When I seem Kim at a agility trial or at her monthly visits to our area, I know that it will always be both fun and successful for my pups.  In addition to seeing my Cardigan on a regular basis, Kim now sees both of the my young Border Collies regularly.  I consider her preventative care with all of my dogs a must for both agility competitions, but a must for their quality of life.”     Kim, have a wonderful Thanksgiving–can’t wait to see you next week.  My pups need you!   Please give my best to your family,     Judy and Her Happy Herd
